The ERDF Masters, formerly Elf Masters, are considered the Race Of Champions in karting. Every year some of the biggest motorsport stars come together in Paris to battle it out in the machinery in which most of them started their careers. The driving force behind the event is former F1 driver Philippe Streiff, who competed in 53 grand prix between 1984 and 1988, but was left paralyzed after a pre-season testing crash in 1989. He turned his attention to organising a karting even in Paris-Bercy and managed to draw the big names to the French metropole. In 1993 Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna fought out their last ever duel.
